The article approximates and critically assesses the philosophical legal argumentation of deputies contained in their speeches at sittings Sejm Republic Poland 8th term (2015–2019). It discusses cases where parliamentarians, among other things, referred to assumptions particular philosophical-legal schools; commented on essence, fea- tures, goals values law; argued about optimal degree positivisation moral norms; quoted philosophers. study revealed uence party a liation MPs argumentation. Deputies Law Justice Party more often than others axiology law natural law, emphasized importance justice equity process enacting applying under- lined role social legitimacy normative acts court rulings. On hand, belonging parliamentary opposition — especially Civic Platform Modern members highlighted formal rule opposed bills perceived as moralistic confessional, sought criteria for judgements sources excessive judicial discretion that threatened certainty security. In author’s view, broadly understood philosophy has utilitarian value debate. is desirable, however, MPs’ remarks nature should be part factual argumentation, not reduced super cial rhetoric or linguistic ornamentation.
